Vector partners with Endress+Hauser to build Regional Campus

Vector Controls and Automation partners with Endress+Hauser to build a new 100,000+ square-foot Gulf Coast Regional Center Campus in Pearland

October 19, 2018 – Endress+Hauser announces plans to build a new 100,000+ square-foot Gulf Coast Regional Center Campus in Pearland, TX, just outside of the Houston area. The campus will be in Pearland’s lower Kirby District, in close proximity to the company’s oil and gas customer base. Construction is currently being planned to begin in 2019 with completion by the end of 2020.

“Our recent investments and campus expansions in the U.S. demonstrates our commitment to support our customers,” said Todd Lucey, General Manager of Endress+Hauser, USA. “The new facilities enable us to improve our services, strategically develop and manage additional growth as well as expand our competencies across the industries we serve.”

The new campus will include areas for calibration, repair and training space, which will include a brand new state-of-the-art PTU® (Process Training Unit). It will house the Global Marketing and Applications group for SpectraSensors’ Gas Analysis business and contain office space for approximately 110 employees including Endress+Hauser’s sales and service provider, Vector Controls & Automation Group.

“We are very excited to be a part of this project,” said Jared Boudreaux, President of Vector Controls and Automation Group. “With our facilities on campus alongside our partner Endress+Hauser, we will increase our current facilities three-fold which will create a substantially larger and broader integrated approach to the market and serve our customers at the highest level.”

The project will include a design with emphasis on Regional Texas Architecture. Responsiveness to the local climate, use of regionally authentic interior and exterior materials and attention to scale are critical to the success of the project. The building will be designed under the guidelines of a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) “Silver” project as stipulated by the U.S. Green Building Council, reflecting Endress+Hauser’s sustainability principles.

Labor Day Weekend- Safety Moment

We hope you and your family make it a great Labor Day weekend. Since its the “last weekend” of the summer make sure to be aware of the heat and sun.  Here is a quick safety moment about the use and value of protecting your skin from the sun. Thank you to Astava for this great safety moment.

Choose a sunscreen with “broad-spectrum” protection. All sunscreen products protect against UVB rays, which are the main cause of sunburn. But UVA rays also contribute to skin cancer and premature aging.

Choose a sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or higher. The SPF number is the level of protection the sunscreen provides against UVB rays. Higher SPF numbers do mean more protection, but the higher you go, the smaller the difference becomes. SPF 15 sunscreens filter out about 93% of UVB rays, while SPF 30 sunscreens filter out about 97%; SPF 50 sunscreens filter about 98%, and SPF 100 filter about 99%. No sunscreen protects you completely.

“Water resistant” does not mean “waterproof.” No sunscreens are waterproof or “sweatproof,” and manufacturers are not allowed to claim that they are. If a product’s front label makes claims of being water resistant, it must specify whether it lasts for 40 minutes or 80 minutes while swimming or sweating. For best results, reapply sunscreen at least every 2 hours and even more often if you are swimming or sweating. Sunscreen usually rubs off when you towel yourself dry, so you will need to put more on.
