Refinery Sector Rule: Reductions in Releases from Pressure Relief Devices

New Rule:

Pressure relief devices (flow monitor, pressure monitor, motion detector on the valve stem, magnetic sensor or rupture disk indicator) must be equipped with a monitor to identify a pressure release, record the time and duration and notify an operator that a release has occurred.

Refineries must maintain three prevention measures applied to pressure relief devices – such as flow, temperature, level and/or pressure

Endress + Hauser – Proline t-mass B 150 – Thermal mass flowmeter        The t-mass B 150 insertion version is suitable for large pipelines or rectangular ventilation ducts. It is designed for the cost-effective measurement of utility gases, in particular compressed air. It is a trending device aimed at sub-metering applications. Its 4-wire technology is contained within a rugged compact aluminum housing. Customer-specific settings are saved on the display and can be transferred from one device to another by means of the display.  More information or request a quote! 8 Endress + Hauser – Cerabar PMC71 – Absolute and gauge pressure The Cerabar PMC71 digital pressure transmitter with capacitive, oil-free ceramic measuring cell is typically used in the process and hygienic applications for pressure, level, volume or mass measurement in liquids and gases. It guarantees high degree of system safety thanks to vacuum-proof ceramic membrane with integrated breakage detection. Quick Setup with adjustable measuring range allows simple commissioning, reduces costs and saves time. SIL2/3 according to IEC 61508.  More information or request a quote! 9 Endress + Hauser – Micropilot FMR51 – Radar measurement Time-of-Flight Micropilot FMR51 for level measurement even under extreme process conditions like high temperature and high pressure in the oil & gas and chemical industry. The FMR51 free space radar offers maximum reliability due to an innovative and patented sensor-design. Micropilot is used for continuous, non-contact level measurement of liquids, pastes and slurries. The measurement is not affected by changing media, temperature changes, gas blankets or vapors.  More information or request a quote!
