Job Summary

The Process Reliability Service Technician is an embedded service technician servicing major chemical facilities in the Houston Gulf Coast region and is an extension of the customer’s maintenance group.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide installation, startup and maintenance of liquid analytical instrumentation such as pH, conductivity, ORP, etc.
  • Interact with the customer on many levels (i.e. operations, maintenance, planning, environmental health & safety, and engineering)
  • Maintain customer parts inventory
  • Test and calibrate equipment
  • Administrative Duties:
    1. Create and Maintain Calibration Records/Documentation
    2. Log and maintain accurate electronic record of service events and maintenance history
    3. Maintain records of instruments serviced
    4. Complete and maintain all safety documentation
  • Ensure work vehicle maintenance is up to date, and company vehicle(s) are properly maintained
  • Participation in rotating on-call/call-out schedule
    1. Respond to process/operational issues and emergencies outside of normal business hours (overnight, weekends, holidays, etc.)
  • Provide expertise to ensure that the products perform and meet customer expectations
  • Operate a program that focuses on personal and process safety (zero accidents, releases, or process down time)
  • Maintain an open communication with customer
  • Maintain 100% compliance with all E+H and customer site specific training
  • Complete all scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) work orders as scheduled
  • Continue to make suggestions for the optimization of process control related to existing analytical (pH) loops
  • Provide subject matter expertise to customer for any pH, conductivity, or other analytical issues that may be presented
  • Follow all customer, Vector Controls and Automation Group and E+H safety policies and  procedures

Qualifications & Other Requirements

  • 5 years or more of related experience highly preferred
  • Associates degree in a technical field preferred
  • Valid drivers license required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and bid specifications
  • Ability to effectively present information in a clear and organized manner, while responding professionally and appropriately to questions from account managers, manufacturers, and customers
  • Manage multiple responsibilities throughout the day
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office suite
  • Customer service and conflict resolution orientation
