Hobre Instruments – WIM COMPAS™ BTU Analyzer
The WIM COMPAS™ adds to Hobré’s portfolio of process analyzers for (Fuel and flare gas combustion measuring) measuring the Wobbe Index, heating value (BTU) and the Combustion Air Requirement Index (CARI). Designed and manufactured in-house, the WIM COMPAS™ builds on Hobré’s 20+ years of success and experience with residual oxygen type analyzers.
The WIM COMPAS™ is used to control the thermal input and air:fuel ratio in such a way that disturbances caused by fuel gas quality fluctuations are minimized, the combustion process occurs with maximum efficiency and emissions are reduced to a minimum.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
The Hobré WIM COMPAS™ BTU Analyzer is a robust, field-proven system designed for real-time measurement of critical combustion parameters such as Wobbe Index, Heating Value (BTU), and Combustion Air Requirement Index (CARI). Utilizing a residual oxygen measurement principle, it ensures precise control over combustion processes, optimizing efficiency and reducing emissions across various industrial applications.
Real-Time BTU and Wobbe Index Measurement:
Provides continuous, fast (<5s T90) analysis of heating value, Wobbe Index, and CARI using a residual oxygen-based catalytic combustion method.
High Gas Compatibility:
Accurately analyzes a wide range of gas types including natural gas, biogas, flare gas, and sour gas—even at elevated dew points (up to 150°C).
Rugged and Certified for Harsh Environments:
Built with a robust stainless steel enclosure, suitable for hazardous areas (ATEX, IECEx, CSA certified) and demanding industrial settings.
Low Maintenance and High Reliability:
Flameless design minimizes maintenance with options for auto-calibration and long operational uptime.
